Super Romantic Meal for like... $6
Okay, here's the deal. Your girlfriend is coming over in 15 minutes and you forgot that you were supposed to make her dinner. All you have lying around is a cup-o-noodles and that left over pizza from two nights ago. Do you feed her the cup-o-noodles, the pizza, or do you use your resources to come up with something absolutely amazing?
So here is what you are going to do. Quickly, so as to make sure you get this done before she shows up, you must heat up the cup-o-noodles in the microwave as directed. You have made plenty of these before, it should be fairly routine and very quick. Then, drain all of the juices into the sink (or another container because, lets face it, you can't afford to waste that broth) and pour the noodles into a bowl. You can either leave the bits of vegetable there, if your girl friend likes vegetables, or you can quickly pick them out so that all you have left is the noodles.
Now, you are running low on time so grab the pizza and another bowl. Your object is to scrape off as much of the sauce (from both the bread and the cheese) as you can. Gather it in the bowl and stick it in the microwave to heat up. Then, while that is warming, take the pizza bread you have left and slice it into smaller more bread stick like pieces. I hope you have some garlic in your pantry because you are going to need it. Get some butter and spread it on the bread where the sauce used to be. Once this step is complete, sprinkle on the garlic. The microwave is still being used so you are going to have to turn the oven on...maybe you should preheat it even before you make the cup-o-noodles.
The oven is ready? Good, stick your garlic bread sticks inside to re-heat/brown them. You can even put some of the cheese you scraped off (to get to the sauce) back onto the bread if you'd like. Now, while that is cooking, take the sauce out of the microwave and proceed to pour it in with the noodles. Stir these together until all noodles are evenly coated. If you have some kind of garnish or cheese to sprinkle on top, do so. You want this to look as much like a fancy spaghetti as you can.
Okay you are down to about a minute now, she will be arriving shortly. Serve your make shift pasta out onto two plates and put your garlic bread sticks out in the middle of the table. Make sure to hide all evidence such as the empty pizza box and the Styrofoam cup the noodles came in. Dim the lights and light a candle (if you have one) so as to make it a little more difficult to clearly see the food on the table.
There, your romantic date is set up. She will eat the food, thinking you've spent a lot of time on it, and (even if it turns out gross) she will think your efforts are adorable. Disaster successfully avoided and it only cost you like six bucks. Good job...now make sure to remember your date next time and don't be so cheap about it.
Good luck!
